The Role of Community Partners
What role does Community Partners can play to the learning of a child going to playschool?
It is important that principal and teachers identify the strengths, needs, and unique characteristics of the community in order to maximize parents’ participation in their children’s school life. By welcoming and including a child’s family members and other caregivers, teachers and other members of the school staff encourage them to become supportive partners in the child’s education. In a multilingual community, it is also helpful to arrange for interpreters to be available so that school staff can gather important information and establish good relationships.
